Falcon Road Underpass Gets Glow-Up
Falcon Road’s underpass beneath Clapham Junction rail bridge is being transformed into a safer, brighter, and more welcoming route. Expect new murals, lighting, pigeon‑proofing, fresh paint and landscaping. Works began 21 July and are due to finish by December 2025. Source
Wandsworth Growth Corridor Unveiled
Wandsworth Council has launched its new Growth Plan, centred around a Clapham Junction-Battersea-Wandsworth Town “growth corridor.” The blueprint maps capacity for up to 14,400 new homes, infrastructure upgrades, jobs, skills opportunities and affordable housing aligned with the Mayor’s London Growth Plan. It’s Official, the Viccy Line is hot as ****’s
The blue-lined sauna will be the hottest tube line this summer, according to studies. It seems that TFL are jumping on the sauna bandwagon. No news on the installation a cold plunge though… Source.
Extra Policing Patrols Added in Brixton
Brixton town centre now benefits from increased town‑centre policing, with an extra 24 officers and four sergeants joining existing neighbourhood teams. Lambeth Council supports this with daily street wardens, drug outreach and CCTV to combat antisocial behaviour and reassure locals. Source
New SEND School in Tooting
Willmott Dixon is building a brand-new, net-zero in operation SEND high school in Tooting, replacing the Roehampton site. It will open in September 2025 with 64 extra places, modern classrooms, outdoor space, and a pupil-run café open to the public. Source

Big Red & Charlemagne Live
Big Red, a fresh London-based college-rock act, headline at Windmill Brixton on Thursday 7 August. They’re supported by Charlemagne, purveyors of “hyper rock” praised for blending influences like King Crimson and black midi. Doors at 7:45 pm. Entry from £6. 18+ only. Source
Davido‑Themed Brixton Fridays
Brixton Fridays pays tribute to Afrobeats’ superstar Davido at The Blues Kitchen on Friday 8 August. Expect exclusive live sets plus DJs spinning R&B, hip‑hop and Afrobeats anthems until 3 am. Tickets cost approximately £5 in advance, £9 on the door; 18+ only. Source
Summer Weird Sin BBQ Fest
South London’s beloved indie fan-fave Some Weird Sin hosts their 2025 all‑nighter at Windmill Brixton on Saturday 9 August from 4 pm. Expect nine live bands, plus a free BBQ, all for £14.50 (18+ only). Relaxed, eclectic and a brilliant Brixton afternoon. Source
Daytime Trance Party
JOOF Editions returns to Phonox on Saturday 9 August, running from 4pm to 10pm. Headlined by trance legend John 00 Fleming, expect vintage hard-edged and progressive beats in a rare London day-party setting. Tickets from £27.75, 18+ only. Source

Kanji Balham is a family-run Korean-Japanese fusion spot on Hildreth Street, offering crowd-pleasing bibimbap, crispy chicken katsu and Korean fried chicken in vibrant homemade sauces. Friendly service, vegetarian options, reasonable precios and a relaxed local vibe make it a firm Balham favourite

(I went there for a work lunch, and we ate so much that the rest of the day was a write-off. No regrets.)
